Grumpy's weekend knitting
Geez, you guys! How about some encouragement to finish what's already on my plate?!? The current lineup may not be the most thrilling thing in the world, but I love each and every one of my current WIPs, and want to see them to completion!
But no-ooooo! You tempt me with ideas of socks and scarves and sweaters: Grumperina, screw the here-and-now, live for the future! Such tantalizing proposals... Don't think for even a second that, with the help of some mind-altering pharmaceuticals, I wouldn't cast on for a bunch of new stuff right. this. very. minute! Any little suggestion, any little reminder, and I'm ready to dive into the deep end of the pool.
Off the top of my head, I've got three sweater projects waiting to become reality: pattern selected, yarn chosen and purchased, needles in the stash. Also, there's one interesting scarf that's begging to be knit. And socks... I'm this close to screwing the moratorium and knitting up some beauties for my grandma.
Considering that I knit quite a bit this weekend, what do you think was on my needles?
Comments
I'm not at all sure how to vote in this one. I was getting to the point where all my projects needed more attention that I could give this weekend, so Friday I cast-on a Baby Surprise Jacket & worked on it (and only it) all weekend, finishing it up on Friday. So is that being monogamous or was that total wild abandonment? Either way I was happy all weekend~
I believe you are one of the few who can stick it out and work on your WIP's. Although you had no socks on the needles so you MIGHT have cast some on... but that's the only thing I can imagine you doing. ;)
So... do we find out the answer next time, Same Grumpy time same Grumpy channel? =) That may be too vintage, I'm dating myself here, it's from OLD Batman episodes - Same Bat time, same Bat channel - duh - bad joke
The answer for mine would be, "Got overwhelmed with possibilities and knitted nothing" sad
I say you were faithful. I know you have dreams of new projects but you seem to be very goal oriented so I think you stuck with it.
I cast on for a new project this evening because the 3/4-finished & need-to-get-done project has gotten too big for my purse and I have a baseball game (Stitch and Pitch) to go to tomorrow night! At least that's my reason...! But I think that you stuck with the projects in process.
It seems to be dividing pretty equally so far.
I have at least two new ideas buzzing in my head looking for a way out and onto my needles. And not much knitting this weekend was done.
I'd say if your current project go too slow, finish the one that's you like the most and screw the rest. Cast on, cast on, cast on.
oh sure, tempt us with a poll and don't reveal the answer.... pfffffttttt! :)
Ah, now you know why some of us less-prolific knitters stash. I have projects and projects and more projects in my head, and the yarn for most of them in my stash, but my hands refuse to go as fast as my love for new patterns...
Then, of course, I see a pattern that stash yarn would be PERFECT for, but then I either need more, or have too much, and... well, you can see where this is going...
hehehe, good question and i voted for what i would do, which is all new new new!
I'm projecting my own need to get my projects into line on to you. I have too many WIPs and it's making me edgy. I did the temporary abandon, cast on and leave it and like any fling it is rather empty when it's all over.

Faithful? just this weekend. Temptation was all around and great thought given to some fantastic fall colors that are hidden away as a prize for making it through summer. If the snow, I mean rain, keeps up here in Western Washington I may skip socks and go straight to mittens and felted slippers.
